Specifying A Remote Relay System
1.

Select a 40K, 56K, a 4056 combination, a 455K or a two way IRTarget that can be concealed effectively for each room/area you will use a remote control. Consider whether your customer would benefit from SYS-TAT...the LED display of system status available on some IRTargets.

Typically, IRTargets are mounted so that you can hold your remote control at a comfortable angle in your favorite seat in each room. Ideal mounting locations include:

2.

Plan for connections to be concealed behind the A/V equipment. The Audioplex Remote Relay system requires nothing but well made "Parallel" connections and a 12 volt DC power supply at the equipment location. If your system is small, utilize Audioplex IRPackages which include the IRTarget, the power supply, and one IRBug. Simply add as many IRBugs or IRFloods as you need for each situation.

However, for larger systems, the optional IRStation offers you total concealment of all main room to room wires and conveniently connects IRTargets, Systems Power Status (when using SYS-TAT), provides plug-ins for IRBugs/Floods and test LED's for troubleshooting. The IRStation includes the 12 volt power supply you need to power your Remote Relay System. The IRStation is available in wall mounted or flush mounted versions.

3.

The final component of your system is the part that relays the invisible infrared signals to your A/V components. Audioplex's famous IRBugs stick directly to the front panel of each audio and video component. The IRBugs are available in versions with plugs for the IRStation or with stripped ends for hand wiring.

Simple systems, where two or three A/V components are placed in one shelf space can utilize Audioplex's ultra-powerful IRFloods. IRFloods are mounted in front, below or to the side of the components and saturate the front panel of each component in the shelf space with IR signals. IRFloods are available with adhesive mounting tape, and as in-wall and shelf top styles.
