Choosing Plastic or Metal Plates
Plastic plates have a key advantage of being molded from the same color material all the way through. Thus a scratch will not reveal any base material. Because of the popularity of plastic plates, Audioplex's default material is plastic. You do not need to add a letter to your volume control model number to receive plastic. Metal plates provide strong, rigid support for in-wall devices. They are painted with our super-durable coating of Leviton based color choices that provide a perfect match to any adjacent wall plate. Because of the strength of metal plates, some installers prefer this material. Order volume controls with metal plates by adding the letter "M" after the color choice.

Choosing Screw-down Connectors or Depluggable Connectors

Screw-down connectors provide a secure and service free connection at the volume control. Because of the popularity of screw-down connectors, Audioplex's default connector is the screw-down connector.

Depluggable connectors are screw-down connectors with quick connect/disconnect feature. This enables an installer to easily make all screw connections without holding the volume control near the wall box. Depluggable connectors also make pre-wire jobs cleaner. After pulling all your wires from the amplifier and speakers out of the wall box, make the appropriate connections to the depluggable connector and leave it until you are ready to install the volume control. Clean, simple and reduces confusion later.
